Videolicious Honored by Goldman Sachs for Entrepreneurship

Amanda Eilian, Co-Founder, Among 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs at 2018 Builders + Innovators Summit

NEW YORK, Oct. 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, Videolicious, the pioneer of video automation, announced that its co-founder and president Amanda Eilian was recognized by Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) as one of its “100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2018” at this year’s Builders + Innovators Summit in Santa Barbara, California.

Goldman Sachs selected Eilian to be honored as one of 100 entrepreneurs from multiple industries to be honored at the three-day event. Eilian began her career in finance, with roles in investment banking, private equity, and as a founding partner in a $265 million IPO. In addition to co-founding Videolicious alongside Matt Singer, Eilian is a founding partner of _able, an investment vehicle focused on funding early-stage startups in the positive living and lifestyle space, with a focus on female founders. A few of her investments include Juice Beauty, goop, Daily Harvest, The Wing, Maven, and Moon Juice.

“As an entrepreneur and investor, this honor not only recognizes me, but the companies and founders I stand behind,” said Eilian. “Women in business continue to be underfunded, despite research showing that companies with at least one female founder consistently outperform all male teams.  My experience at Videolicious has provided me the opportunity to do more than just invest in these companies, but support and guide their founders by sharing my own entrepreneurial journey.”

Founded in 2007, Videolicious was created to help anyone, anywhere, create powerful videos that break through the noise and reach target audiences with powerful messages. The company has realized transformative growth as of late, servicing high-volume b2b sales and marketing organizations, with new industries and use cases coming on board in the near future.

In 2017, female founders received just 2.2% of venture capital dollars. This is up only .03% from 2016, when female founders received 1.9% of overall VC spend. Eilian and other Goldman Sachs’ honorees are evidence that this low percentage is disproportionate to the capital women are generating.

“A dynamic economy depends on dynamic entrepreneurs who disrupt industries and occasionally give birth to entirely new sectors,” said David M. Solomon, Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs. “The purpose of Builders + Innovators is to support emerging leaders in their quests to innovate faster in order to grow their ideas. We are pleased to recognize Amanda as one of the most intriguing entrepreneurs of 2018.”

For nearly 150 years, Goldman Sachs has been advising and financing entrepreneurs as they launch and grow their businesses. In addition to honoring 100 entrepreneurs, the summit consists of general sessions and clinics led by seasoned entrepreneurs, academics and business leaders as well as resident scholars.
