      WGAL NEWS EIGHT. WELL, THERE IS A FUNDRAISER TO SUPPORT THE FARMERS WHO HAD THEIR ANIMALS SHOT IN LANCASTER COUNTY LAST WEEKEND. AT LEAST THREE COWS WERE SHOT AND DIED. THOSE ANIMALS WERE FOUND LAST SATURDAY MORNING. ONE SHOOTING HAPPENED ON SCHOOLHOUSE ROAD NEAR GEORGETOWN ROAD IN COLERAIN TOWNSHIP AND THEN SEVEN MILES AWAY. POLICE SAY THE SAME PEOPLE SHOT A HORSE AND A COW ON SOUTH VINTAGE ROAD IN SADSBURY TOWNSHIP. THE HORSE LIVED BUT HAS SOME VISION LOSS AND CANNOT BE USED FOR FARM WORK UNTIL IT RECOVERS. THE MAN ORGANIZING THE FUNDRAISER MET US AT A FARM WHERE NEWS 8 STATE POLICE WERE INVESTIGATING. ON SATURDAY THERE, NEWS EIGHT WAS SHOWN DAIRY COWS WITH BULLET WOUNDS. AND IT’S SO IT’S SO SENSELESS. AND YOU KNOW, WHAT? WOULD ANYBODY GET OUT OF DOING SOMETHING LIKE THIS? BUT OBVIOUSLY IT HAPPENED. SO THEN MY MY THOUGHTS JUST TURNED TO OKAY, SO WHAT WHAT CAN WE DO NOW? WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP. WELL, STATE POLICE ARE LOOKING FOR THOSE SHOOTERS. HE TOLD US TODAY THAT SOMEONE DONATED A COW TO ONE OF THE FARMS WHO LOST AN ANIMAL. AND WE HAV

      Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a series of animal shootings in Lancaster County. In Colerain Township, two cows were shot and killed on School House Road, according to investigators. The cows were found dead on March 15, the same day at the Salisbury Township shooting. Investigators said the same people who shot the Colerain Township cows then traveled to South Vintage Road in Sadsbury Township and shot a horse and a cow. The horse survived, but the cow died from its injuries. Police have not stated if these incidents are directly connected to the Salisbury Township shooting.       Multiple horses and cows were shot on Usner Road in Salisbury Township on March 15 between 12:45 a.m. and 1 a.m., according to a recent report.

      Police said several of the cows that were shot died from their injuries.

      The total number of animals shot is unknown.

      Anyone with information is urged to contact Trooper Richard Whitehouse at the Lancaster Crime Unit.

      More animals shot

      State police initially asked the public for help to find whoever shot and killed three cows and injured a horse back in March.

      In Colerain Township, two cows were shot and killed on School House Road, according to investigators. The cows were found dead on March 15, the same day at the Salisbury Township shooting.

      Investigators said the same people who shot the Colerain Township cows then traveled to South Vintage Road in Sadsbury Township and shot a horse and a cow. The horse survived, but the cow died from its injuries.

      Police have not stated if these incidents are directly connected to the Salisbury Township shooting.

      There's been no word on any suspects or arrests.
