United States President Donald Trump has ventured into the world of digital assets over the past half-decade. He has released various NFT collections and also a memecoin earlier this year. Reports indicate he and his team are working on deepening their foothold in the digital assets sphere. Trump is reportedly in the process of developing a crypto-based mobile game.
The video game is reportedly based on the very popular Monopoly Go! from Scopely. In that game, players go around the iconic board and earn money to construct their virtual city. It isn’t a surprise that Donald Trump wants to base it on the game of Monopoly. He has made it clear in the past that he loves the classic board game. “I’ve always thought Monopoly was an amazing game,” Trump told the New York Post.
Sources indicate longtime Donald Trump ally Bill Zanker is the one heading up the project while the president continues his second term in office. Last year, he apparently reached out to Hasbro to acquire some rights to the Monopoly. The source says the game will be a real estate development game, harkening back to the roots of Trump’s fortune. Very little is known about the project as Trump and Zanker have declined to comment.
There’s a lot to unpack here. Critics will again scream about the ethics of using the public office to profit. However, this is something many politicians have done since the dawn of government. There’s the question of copyright. The game sure sounds exactly like Monopoly, and if Hasbro did not hand over any rights, lawsuits could be in order. The more interesting aspect of this is the transformation of Donald Trump on digital assets.
Trump wasn’t a supporter of these assets until recently. His digital assets have been wildly popular amongst his dedicated fan base. Monopoly Go! is one of the most profitable mobile games on the market right now. People spend a lot of time and money on games like this. If anyone else were doing this project, it wouldn’t be news, but the fact that the President of the United States is making this a huge story.
We’ll have to wait and see what comes of this. The reports indicate we could see an announcement at the end of this month. However, until we hear something from anyone official, it’s simply something to keep an eye on.

Michigan's top running back target in the 2026 class spent the weekend in Knoxville for a visit with Tennessee. And while reports suggest that the visit went well, the overwhelming belief - at least in Michigan circles - is that the Wolverines are still the team to beat for five-star Savion Hiter. The 6-0, 200-pound prospect out of Virginia is rated as the No. 1 running back in the nation for the 2026 class. He holds offers from some of the biggest programs around the country, but the top contenders at this point appear to be Michigan, Ohio State, and Tennessee. This week, On3 recruiting insider Steve Wiltfong shared the latest on this high-profile recruiting battle. Via Wiltfong: "I've talked to sources around Ann Arbor, I've talked to sources around Knoxville regarding this recruitment, and I get the sense that both those sets of sources feel like Michigan and Tennessee are the programs that have emerged in this recruitment. Now, Ohio State... they would say, 'not so fast.' They're getting Hiter back to campus this weekend as they try and make a run at a number one ranked recruiting class. "I think Tennessee is in the thick of it. They're slated to get the last official visit for Savion Hiter, so these official visits are going to be key. You've got Ohio State, you've got Georgia, then you've got Michigan, then you've got Tennessee, then you've got a decision. I know that this is tight down the stretch for for him, but Tennessee very much in the middle of it." Although Tennessee is making a strong push, the folks in Ann Arbor remain confident. Hiter was in Ann Arbor for Michigan's spring game and received another recent visit from running backs coach Tony Alford. Hiter is expected to be back in Ann Arbor for his official visit on June 13-15. From there, he'll head back to Tennessee for his final OV before making a decision. With Michigan missing out on elite running back Javian Osborne to Notre Dame, it's critical that the Wolverines find a way to close the deal with Hiter.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are still playing the waiting game on free-agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and everybody, except them, seems to be getting tired of it. That includes one of the giants in franchise history, Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw. The four-time Super Bowl champion has never been shy about being critical of the team when warranted, and he did not hold back on Tuesday when discussing the Steelers' reported interest in Rodgers during an appearance on 103.7 The Buzz. Bradshaw called the Steelers' interest in Rodgers "a joke" and saved his harshest barbs for Rodgers himself. "That's a joke. That to me is just a joke. What are you gonna do? Bring him in for one year, are you kidding me? That guy needs to stay in California. Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there." Bradshaw also argued the Steelers gave up on former first-round pick Kenny Pickett too quickly and did not do enough to support him with talent around him. The Steelers' quarterback situation has been a mess ever since the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger, and whether it is Rodgers or somebody else, they are set to have their fourth different opening starting quarterback over the past four seasons. Since Roethlisberger's retirement, the Steelers' opening day starters have been Mitch Trubisky, Pickett, Justin Fields and a yet-to-be-named starter this season that could be anyone from Rodgers, to Mason Rudolph, to rookie sixth-round pick Will Howard, to Skylar Thompson to another mystery veteran that is still available. Rudolph and Russell Wilson have also started games for the Steelers over the past three seasons. They went into this offseason with the goal of re-signing either Wilson or Fields, but ended up retaining neither as they went to the New York Giants and New York Jets, respectively, in free agency. The Steelers also missed out on every other major free agent and traded quarterback this offseason, and currently only have Rudolph, Howard and Thompson on the roster. It is a problem and a concern. Rodgers also probably is not going to solve it, given his age (42) and how bad he was this past season for the Jets. Along with completely overturning their quarterback room for the second consecutive offseason, they have also changed their skill positions on offense by trading wide receiver George Pickens and letting top running back Najee Harris leave in free agency. They did acquire DK Metcalf in a blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks, but still do not know who will be passing him the football.
Whether or not San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy truly deserved the five-year, $265M contract extension that included $181M in guarantees and a no-trade clause he received earlier this month will likely be a hotly debated topic throughout the summer. As Ali Thanawalla of NBC Sports Bay Area previously pointed out, former NFL wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh has served as a personal coach for current 49ers wideout Brandon Aiyuk. Thus, it's interesting that Houshmandzadeh criticized San Francisco regarding the Purdy deal during Monday's edition of the FS1 "Speak" program. "I believe they did overpay for Brock Purdy," Houshmandzadeh said, as shared by David Bonilla of 49ers WebZone. "I would have given Brock Purdy $47M a year. That would have been the most I'm giving him. We needed you last year. You went 1-6 against playoff teams when we had guys hurt." Specifically, Houshmandzadeh noted that Purdy was unable to help the 49ers overcome losing noteworthy starters such as Aiyuk, running back Christian McCaffrey and left tackle Trent Williams to injuries last season. While San Francisco ended Week 10 at 5-4, the club lost six of its next seven games before it shut Purdy down ahead of Week 18. Purdy began May in the final year of his inexpensive rookie deal, and it seems no other club was in a rush to trade for his services and then hand him the type of extension his camp wanted. According to the Spotrac website, Purdy and Detroit Lions starter Jared Goff are now tied for seventh in the league as it pertains to average annual salary for quarterbacks. At $47M per year, Purdy would've been 12th on that list. "If Brock Purdy takes the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl and they win it, then his contract is well worth it," Houshmandzadeh added during his comments. "Until he does that, he's overpaid." Purdy already has a Super Bowl appearance on his career resume and was a fourth-down stop away from winning that start. If nothing else, it could be interesting to see what Aiyuk has to say about Houshmandzadeh's take during what 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan likely hopes will be a drama-free summer for the organization.
After seeing a historic rookie season from Caitlin Clark last year, many anxiously awaited to see if Paige Bueckers could deliver similar results. Through the first two weeks of her pro career, the former UConn star has lived up to expectations. Last week, Bueckers got to showcase her talents in her hometown against the Minnesota Lynx. On Tuesday night, she found herself with another homecoming. The Dallas Wings guard got to play in front of fans in Connecticut again for the first time since leaving the Huskies this spring. Similar to her return to Minnesota, Bueckers did not let this opportunity go to waste. She put together the best showing of her WNBA career thus far, erupting for 21 points, five rebounds and seven assists on stellar 8-of-10 shooting from the field. This showing was a driving force in the Wings picking up their first win of the 2025 season. Along with continuing to shine since being taken first overall in the 2025 draft, Bueckers has worked her way into the history books. She is now the first player in league history to record at least 60 points and 30 assists through their first five games. Coming out of UConn, many argued that Bueckers is just as skilled as Clark and could have a similar impact from day one. Now setting her own records, the Wings guard is wasting no time making noise in the WNBA. Overall, seeing another top pick come in and shine is great for the long-term trajectory of the WNBA. The league is in the midst of a rapid growth period with popularity growing by the day. With young players like Bueckers and Clark continuing to stand out, the WNBA has promising talents capable of leading the next generation. Fresh off winning a national championship at UConn, Bueckers entered the WNBA with lofty expectations of her own. This doesn't seem to have fazed her, as she adjusted to competing at the pro level nicely. While Bueckers has succeeded in laying the groundwork, the key for her will be building off this momentum in the coming months as she navigates her first year in the WNBA.
