Runaway teen couple who disappeared over a week ago 'may be camping in the Welsh mountains' as police search to find them

A runaway teen couple who disappeared from home over a week ago may be camping in the Welsh mountains, police believe.

Isabelle and Daniel, both 16, have been missing in the Ceredigion area of west Wales since April 7.

They left without mobile phones and are understood to have taken camping equipment.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the two were spotted on Alexandra Road near Aberystwyth train station at 12.30pm on Friday, April 11. It is believed they then caught the T1 bus which left at 12.36pm.

The teen couple were seen the day before at Llandudno train station at 8.20pm asking for directions to Dolgellau.

Police have released descriptions of the two teens and say their families are 'increasingly concerned for their safety and welfare'.

Isabelle is described as 5ft 3in tall and usually having blonde hair, although she may have dyed her hair to a darker colour.

They said she was last seen wearing a black parker style coat with a fur edge, grey jogging bottoms and carrying a large black backpack.

Daniel has been described as being 6ft 1in tall with short dark brown hair with shaved sides.

In the recent sighting police have described him as wearing a black baseball cap with white markings on the front.

The 16-year-old was also wearing dark blue jeans, a black t-shirt and a black collared coat and carrying a black, red and grey large camping backpack.

Police have also stressed they believe the pair have taken a change of clothes and could now be wearing something different to what they've described.

In an interview with WalesOnline last week, Daniel's father said leaving home was 'out-of-character' for his son and said he'd spoken to him on a Skype call the night before he went missing.

It is believed that they have taken camping equipment with them and have connections to the Gloucestershire, Merseyside and North Wales areas.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the teenager's families are 'eagerly await their safe return home'.
