ST. LOUIS, Mo. (WILX) - It’s no secret Michigan State’s forward Isaac Howard had a historic junior season for MSU. On Friday night, Howard was cemented in Spartan history when he captured the 2025 Hobey Baker Memorial Award, which is awarded to the best player in college hockey.

Howard becomes the first MSU player to win the award since Ryan Miller did it back in 2001. Howard totaled up 26 goals and 26 assists in his junior campaign and also captured first-team All-American honors and Big Ten Player of the Year as well.

Howard is now returning to Michigan State for his senior season after failing to reach a deal with Tampa Bay.
