HS ROUNDUP: Lenahan tosses one-hitter, Comets roll in softball

KINGSTON — Brooke Lenahan tossed a one-hitter with nine strikeouts, and Crestwood had 13 hits in a 10-0 victory over Wyoming Valley West on Friday in Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 softball.

Alexa Toniatti and Ella Richards each had three hits. Celia Stahlnecker and Alek Dutko each drove in two runs, and Jorja Snyder finished 2 for 4.

Reese McGlynn had the lone Spartan hit.

Tunkhannock 12, Wilkes-Barre Area 2: At Tunkhannock, Emily Patton drove in four runs and Kenzie Hannon struck out seven as the Tigers remained undefeated.

Freshman Taryn Newswanger was 3 for 4, while Addisyn Waterman, Erin Van Ness and Kayden Bamberger each had two hits. Hannon and Alli Kinney both added doubles.

Jordan Prushinski had a home run for the Wolfpack.

Baseball

Holy Redeemer 12, Hanover Area 0: At Hanover Area, the Royals busted out 12 hits, and Nick Mazzarella fired a five-inning four-hitter to pace Redeemer.

Kayden Stevenson, Zach Schultz and Chase Binker all drove in two runs. Mazzarella struck out five in five innings.

Wyoming Area 5, Wyoming Seminary 2: At Seminary, Wyoming Area scored three runs in the fourth inning to pick up the WVC Division 2 win.

Jake Snyder and Alex Vacula combined on a five-hitter with nine strikeouts. Vacula was 2 for 2 with an RBI, while Snyder and Ben Rogish added doubles.

Colin Donovan finished 2 for 3 for the Blue Knights.

Northwest Area 14, CMVT 2: At Northwest, Dominic Cavuto tied a school record with his 15th career home run, and the Rangers picked up a win in a District 4 baseball game.

Cody Wilson struck out eight in five innings to earn the victory.

Boys lacrosse

Delaware Valley 13, Crestwood 7: At Matamoras, Peyton LaRocco scored seven goals to lift the Warriors in the WVC victory.

Tyler Husejnovic scored twice, while keepers Keegan Heath and Riley Smith combined for 10 stops.

Kevin Schlude had a hat trick for the Comets.

Lake-Lehman 6, North Pocono 3: At Moscow, Matt Finarelli and Anthony Magnotta each scored two goals to lift the Black Knights in the league win.

Hunter Palka and Logan Law added goals in the victory.

Jake Laboranti, Tate Bowen and Gavin Phillips each scored for the Trojans.

Boys tennis

Wyoming Seminary 5, Pittston Area 0: At Seminary, the Blue Knights remained undefeated in the league with a sweep of Pittston Area.

Billy Hall and Stefan Zecar picked up singles wins, while the team of Andrew Tsui-Yicheng Li was also a winner. Seminary also received forfeits at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles.

Singles: Hall over Jones, 6-0, 6-0. Zecar over Tsybuliak, 6-0, 6-0. Radovanovic won by forfeit; Doubles: Tsui-Li over Stilitino-Tiru, 6-0, 6-0. Kramme-Gupta won by forfeit.

Dallas 3, Wyoming Area 2: At Dallas, the Mountaineers picked up wins at No. 3 singles and got two points in doubles to get the WVC victory.

Lukas Runde was a straight-set winner at No. 3 singles, and the No. 1 doubles team of Nico Cella and Andrew Avila also won. Dallas received a forfeit at No. 2 doubles.

Luca Argenio and Christian Abromovage picked up the Warrior points.

Singles: Argenio (WA) over Linnen, 6-4, 6-2. Abromovage (WA) over Menacher, 7-5, 6-0. Runde (D) over Winslow, 6-2, 6-2; Doubles: Cella-Avila (D) over Wang-Tang, 6-1, 6-1. Drezek-Eyer (D) won by forfeit.

Crestwood 5, Hazleton Area 0: At Hazle Twp., Crestwood swept the five matches in straight sets to improve to 8-0.

Tommy Biscotti, Sean Rossi and Spencer Young were all winners in singles.

Singles: Biscotti over Feola, 6-2, 6-4. Rossi over Kintzel, 6-1, 6-4. Young over Arias, 6-2, 6-2; Doubles: Kogoy-Esgahani over Palmieri-Gaydos, 6-1, 6-2. Modrovsky-Groth over Hamas-Walter, 6-2, 6-2.
