By this time, everyone and their grandma knows that Jon Jones has demanded “f–k you money” to compete in what is expected to be his swansong against Tom Aspinall. How much that is exactly, no one knows! But Joe Rogan had claimed he heard it was $30 million, only to take back his claim once Dana White chided him for it. What we do know is that multiple sources claim ‘Bones’ made around $8 million for his last outing against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 which is the biggest paycheck of his career.
So presumably, “f–k you money” would be at least two times $8 million, perhaps three or even four. But how about $50 million? Well, of course, the UFC would never pay the GOAT contender that in its wildest dreams. But it seems that the PFL will. At least that is what its founder and chairman, Donn Davis, claimed in an X post on Tuesday.
“I know one way @JonnyBones earns $50m … @francis_ngannou

Francis Ngannou, of course, was the reigning UFC heavyweight champion when he exited the company on acrimonious terms two years ago. When he was in the UFC, the Jones vs. Ngannou heavyweight title clash was the biggest fight in the world. Alas, Ngannou left the promotion before Jones, previously a light heavyweight, was ready to fight at 265lbs. So an Ngannou-Jones clash would be an absolute blockbuster.
But there are a couple of problems with this plan. First and foremost, Jones is still signed to the UFC. In fact, he signed an eight-fight deal with the promotion two years ago, and even if he retires soon, he won’t be able to fight in a rival promotion and cannot compete in a rival promotion like the PFL.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Jon Jones worth $50 million, or is the PFL offer just a pipe dream?

And we know Dana White will never do anything to help the PFL make money or become more popular, so he is unlikely to green-light ‘Bones’ fighting there. There is a chance that the Saudis could maybe make something happen if they really leaned on the UFC CEO.
After all, White has announced a new boxing league with Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the Kingdom’s General Entertainment Authority. But even that is a pretty long shot. However, what seems to not be a long shot and seems increasingly likely is that Jones will fight in the UFC at least once more.

Tom Aspinall’s ‘promising’ update on Jon Jones unification fight
This weekend, UFC fans finally got some good news about the Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall heavyweight title unification clash. ‘Bones’ has been negotiating with the UFC to secure said ‘f–k you money’, which has held up the fight. Some even fear the fight may never happen. But this weekend, Aspinall and his father had dinner with UFC matchmaker Hunter Campbell in London, where they discussed the Jones fight. After which the Englishman was remarkably optimistic.
“We had a nice meal and we talked everything through… We had a fantastic meeting, everything went amazing, I understand my position now, I understand what the company’s doing now, and you’ve got to stay tuned because there’s some big news coming,” Aspinall told Ariel Helwani on Tuesday.

So it seems like the Jones-Aspinall fight is happening, and hopefully happening sometime this year. Helwani has claimed that ‘Bones’ wants six months to prepare for Aspinall if and when the bout becomes official. This means there is still enough time for Jones-Aspinall to happen in late 2025. But what will the GOAT contender do that? Most expect him to retire. Maybe he will stick around for a rematch with Aspinall if he loses.
Or maybe, he takes off to the PFL and fights Francis Ngannou for $50 million. Jones could decide to take his chances against the UFC in court over the breach of contract suit against Dana White and Co. will definitely bring against him. But for $50 million it may just be worth it. What do you think about Donn Davis’ $50 million offer to Jon Jones?
