The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP)’s Climate Action Cell (CAC) has announced its internship programme, inviting applications from postgraduates and young professionals eager to contribute to the city’s climate action initiatives.

According to CAC Chief Preeti Gehlot, the programme will offer 10 interns the opportunity to engage in climate-related projects at the ward level for a tenure of two to six months. Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹20,000 and will work within BBMP’s jurisdiction. Proficiency in English and Kannada is a mandatory requirement.

The programme aims to involve interns in data collection and research on climate change impacts, community engagement activities such as awareness campaigns, and communication efforts, including content development and advocacy. Interns will also provide administrative support to CAC’s ongoing initiatives.

Candidates must be pursuing or have completed post-graduation in urban planning, public policy, environmental engineering, or related disciplines. While prior work experience is not mandatory, familiarity with research, community engagement, and software tools such as Quantum Geographic Information System (QGIS) and statistical analysis programs is preferred.

Applications must be submitted online at the BBMP Climate Action Portal (https://apps.bbmpgov.in/bcap/.) by April 16. The internship is set to commence on May 2. For further inquiries, applicants can reach out to bbmpclimateactioncell@gmail.com.
