Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy sues ex-girlfriend after arrest, abuse allegations

Xavier Worthy, a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs and a former Texas football star, filed a civil lawsuit Monday against his ex-fiancée, whom he accuses of making false assault allegations, pulling out his hair and destroying or stealing $150,000 of his property.
Worthy, 21, was arrested March 7 outside of Austin after the woman accused him of violently assaulting her in a Georgetown home they shared.
No charges were filed after further investigation, Williamson County District Attorney Shawn Dick said earlier this month, but that could change if more evidence is brought forward.
A judge granted the woman a temporary restraining order against Worthy on March 12. The American-Statesman does not name alleged victims of domestic assault or abuse without their consent. .
Although Worthy has not been charged with a crime, the NFL could discipline him for misconduct. Neither the NFL nor the Chiefs have responded to previous Statesman requests for comment about a potential investigations
Worthy on Monday also requested a protective order against the woman, according to court records.
In his lawsuit, Worthy's alleges the woman made false accusations in order to claim half ownership of his $2 million Georgetown house.
The woman "schemed to extort a home, money, cars and other valuables from plaintiff by concocting false stories of domestic violence and leaking the same to the press to professionally and personally assassinate plaintiff's character and reputation in the public eye for a subjective financial windfall," court filings said.
Cogliano and Miro — the firm representing the woman, who is a professional track athlete — declined to comment on Worthy's lawsuit, saying evidence of their allegation will be presented at an April 1 court hearing.

Worthy is seeking damages of more than $250,000 but less than $1 million, according to the lawsuit filed.
Worthy was booked March 7 for assaulting a family or house member and impeding their breath or circulation, jail records show. The Williamson County District Attorney's Office declined to press charges, citing interviews with a third-party witness, and Worthy was released.
“As is our practice with all declines, should you develop additional information indicative of probable cause our office will consider that information and may present the case at that time to a Williamson County grand jury,” said a letter District Attorney Shawn Dick sent to the Williamson County Sheriff's Office on March 8.
Worthy and the woman started dating in March 2024, according to the lawsuit. It said a month or two later, she requested that he buy a $2 million home for them. Worthy bought the home for himself in June 2024 and allowed her to move into it, the suit said.
Worthy alleges that he discovered on Feb. 23 that the woman had been unfaithful to him after seeing proof of affairs that a private investigator recorded on video, according to the lawsuit. It said Worthy asked her to move out many times over the course of 12 days and even offered to relocate her to an apartment but she refused.
Worthy alleges the woman destroyed his game room March 7 and took the key to his Rolls Royce, according to the suit. He also accuses her of scratching his face and ripping parts of his hair out.
The lawsuit said while Worthy was in jail, the woman "touted her success" of owning half of the home by showing a neighbor a homeowner's association document that had her name on it.
After realizing she did not own half the home, the woman then stole or destroyed $150,000 of Worthy's property including taking $30,000 in cash, according to his suit. The woman also took a handgun, a jewelry box, a pair of sneakers and three bracelets, the lawsuit said.
Personnel from the woman's track team helped pack her car in the aftermath of the police call March 7, the suit said.
A hearing for the woman's requested protective order is set for April 1 in the 395th District Court in Georgetown.
Ex-girlfriend claims Xavier Worth hit her on multiple occasions
Less than a week after Worthy's arrest, the woman applied for an order of protection against him, which was temporarily granted. In that application, which was filed in a civil court and is not a criminal matter, she alleged having endured multiple instances of physical abuse by him in both Missouri and Texas beginning during the NFL regular season.
The woman alleged in graphic details that Worthy was "the absolute most violent he had ever been" March 7, when he was arrested. The two were arguing when Worthy allegedly picked her up and demanded she leave, according to the filing.
As the couple continued to fight, she said, Worthy grabbed her by the throat and slammed her to the ground, according to her filing. The woman said she struggled to walk afterward and could not attend practice because of her injuries.
Each of them left the residence and, later that night, Worthy allegedly locked her out of the house, according to her filing. Once she was let in, the documents states, she pushed his wallet and keys off a counter and he allegedly threw them at her.
In her protective order filing, she accuses Worthy of hitting her in the head, knocking her down and taking her phone. When she tried to leave, she alleged, he didn't let her, taking some of her belongings. She said she then flipped a desk in his game room and Worthy choked her and tried to physically throw her out of the house, according to the filing. She said Worthy hit her with an open hand, left her outside the home with her dog and she then called police, according to the filings.
According to the woman's filing, the March 7 incident was the only time police were called.
Worthy allegedly "put his hands" on her for the first time in October, according to her filing. The couple was discussing a dispute between the woman and his mother, and he allegedly pushed her to the ground, the filing says.
The affidavit alleges Worthy "slammed me hard and choked me. He knew about my history of abuse in past relationships, so I was horrified that he would do that." She said he later knocked her to the ground and her toe was bleeding. In another incident her tooth was allegedly chipped after hitting a closet door. The two at least once argued about whether she should leave the home they shared in Central Texas, the affidavit said, but Worthy said he did not want her to leave.
Around Valentine's Day in Texas, the affidavit says Worthy allegedly put his hands around her neck, squeezed and pushed her away after an argument about a previous incident.
Worthy's attorneys have denied that he physically abused the woman.
