Broadcast audio technology company Telos Alliance has decided what it will showcase at the upcoming 2025 NAB Show, and the company long-associated with Frank Foti believes its loudness management tools and Next Generation Audio (NGA) products for over-the-air and streaming TV deserve the spotlight.
The same can be said for Telos Alliance’s automated audio processing and audio handling products for file-based media workflows.
Telos Alliance will be in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center (Booth #N721), and new product updates for its audio processing, remote live production, and IP intercom offerings are poised to be the focal point of team member discussions.
“We are fully focused on delivering innovative solutions that keep pace with the evolving needs of broadcasters,” says Costa Nikols, Media & Entertainment Strategy Advisor for Telos Alliance. “Our latest product updates showcase advancements in Next Generation Audio, improved loudness processing that maintains compliance without sacrificing dialogue intelligibility for traditional audio delivery, or NGA. By embracing SMPTE ST 2110 readiness across our product offerings and developing AI-enhanced optimizations for both live and file-based audio production workflows, we’re providing the tools broadcasters need, both to elevate consumers’ viewing experiences and to streamline daily operations for broadcast pros.”
Telos Alliance brands include a host of familiar names, including Linear Acoustic, Minnetonka Audio, Telos Infinity, Jünger Audio, Omnia, Axia, and Telos Systems.
Coming to NAB 2025 is the newest member of the family of AERO-series DTV audio processors: AERO.enterprise. It offers AEROMAX loudness control and UPMAX-II stereo-to-5.1-channel upmixing and downmixing just as the hardware-based Linear Acoustic AERO.20, AERO.200, AERO.2400, and AERO.8000 products, but is delivered as software for hosting on customer-provided COTS servers. Each AERO.enterprise framework can host multiple AEROMAX processing instances in any combination of 5.1 (5.1+2+2), 2.0 (2+2+2), or 5×2 (2+2+2+2+2) configurations. Per-instance options include Dolby Digital Plus transcoding, Nielsen watermark encoding (N2, N6, and CBET), Verance Aspect watermark encoding, and CrowdControl for increased dialogue intelligibility.
Standard I/O for AERO.enterprise is Audio over IP (AoIP), using AES67 in support of SMPTE ST 2110-30 (Level A) as well as Livewire+. Telos Alliance xNode2 or SDI AoIP Nodes can be used to convert analog, AES3, and SDI signals to/from AoIP.
Updated product features to Telos Alliance’s Linear Acoustic NGA products, such as the LA-5291 Professional Audio Encoder, LA-5300 Broadcast Audio Processor, and UPMAX ISC Immersive Soundfield Controller, see new NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 support, adding advanced network registration, discovery, and connection management features.
Additionally, the Linear Acoustic LA-5300 Broadcast Audio Processor gains Dolby Digital Plus with Atmos encoding for Atmos workflows where Dolby AC-4 is not employed, the ability to upmix to 5.1.2 and 7.1.4 formats, 5.1.4 to 5.1- and 2.0-channel downmixing, mono and stereo handling of SAP audio, and an updated Dolby AC-4 encoder library to support M&E + D workflows.
The Jünger Audio flexAI platform gets the addition of S-ADM metadata authoring and rendering for immersive and personalized Dolby Atmos workflows, advanced support for Ember+, NMOS IS-04 and IS-05, SMPTE ST 2110-30 and -31 Level A, B, and C, and SMPTE ST 2110-41 metadata transport.
An optional AI-powered automixer, available later this year, will add real-time analysis and intelligent adjustments of audio mixes to ensure consistent audio levels and enhanced speech intelligibility. Finally, a brand-new flexAIcloud product will offer a cloud-native AWS deployment of the flexAI platform, providing the option of a fully cloud-based workflow or upscaling systems with cloud instances to meet peak production demands.
Lastly, Telos Alliance confirms that it has a partnership with global media supply-chain firm Telestream at NAB 2025, simplifying the purchase and delivery process of their products. This integrates automated audio handling system Minnetonka AudioTools Server into Telestream Vantage, a video production product.
