MONROE, La. (KNOE) - As the countdown to the Red, White and Blue Airshow begins, preparations are in full swing to honor the brave men and women who served during the Vietnam War.

This special event will feature vintage aircraft, including iconic Huey helicopters and Cobra attack helicopters, giving attendees a rare opportunity to see these historic planes up close.

For local Vietnam War veterans, the airshow is about more than just the aircraft on display, it’s a chance to reflect on their experiences and share their stories with the next generation.

One veteran shared, “This is a chance to show your grandchildren where you were and what you did. They’ll be curious about that—something your children might not fully understand.”

Event organizers are dedicated to ensuring the airshow serves not only as an entertaining spectacle but as a tribute to those who fought in the war. “This is an opportunity to honor heroes who didn’t get the recognition they deserved over 50 years ago,” said one organizer.

Active-duty military members also view the airshow as a way to express their gratitude. “I can’t say enough, but thank you,” said one service member. “Your actions speak louder than words. Thank you for everything.”

The airshow promises to be a meaningful and exciting event, with a focus on remembering the past and honoring the sacrifices made by Vietnam War veterans.
