Mushin lawmaker reiterates commitment to digital skills empowerment

Hon. Toyin Fayinka, member representing Mushin Federal Constituency II at the House of Representatives, has restated his commitment to support young people in acquiring skills in digital and information technology.

Fayinka reiterated this at the graduation ceremony of over 100 young learners of the maiden edition of the Imole Tech Hub Initiative.

The six-week programme was designed to empower trainees with digital skills including computer graphic design, use of Microsoft office software database management systems administration, web design and development.

In his goodwill speech, Hon Fayinka said he is willing to do more for his Constituency to support the State Government on other intervention programmes

Fayinka said: “This is just the beginning. The significance of this programme is to empower our youths with skills and knowledge needed in information technology. This initiative is a promise fulfilled to the youths during my campaign.

“With the skills and knowledge acquired, these graduating students can now compete in the tech industry while adding positive value to the society.

“More so,we will do more in empowering our youths and pave the way to their success.”

United Nations Ambassador on Quality Education in Africa, Adekunle Badmus, who also spoke at the graduation ceremony announced that the graduating students will be getting free training on export.

“When you learn that with your tech skill, you will be able to work with anybody,” he emphasized.

Some of the graduating students shared some of the knowledge gained

“I studied Microsoft administration. Under it are Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint and outlook.

I learnt a lot on getting here and I want to thank God for giving Hon. Fayinka the power and capacity to sponsor this training.”

“Over 100 of us have benefited from this initiative and we are now going into the world to showcase this skill,” another trainee said.

Commending Hon. Fayinka for the initiative, All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart in Mushin, Prince Adewale Arogundade, said the constituents have never regretted voting him into office.

“I must say that Mushin has never regretted voting for Hon. Fayinka. His efforts to positively impact the community through various initiatives, ranging from educational advancements to skill acquisition and empowerment programmes,deserve commendation, regardless of political affiliation, religion, or ethnicity. Additionally, his approach in addressing the needs of the constituents demonstrates the positive character he embodies,” he said.
